Americano Cocktail History

The Americano was first served in the 1860’s at Garspare Campari’s bar in Milan, Italy.

Americano Alcohol Content

Obviously depending on what type of spirits you use, the alcohol content can change dramatically.

30ml Campari 25% ABV
30ml Sweet Vermouth 15% ABV

Assuming it is 30ml Campari and 30ml Sweet Vermouth and the drink with the soda included is 250ml in total, then the alcohol content would be 5.6% or 12 proof.

  • 30ml Campari
  • 30ml Sweet Vermouth
  • Soda
  • Lemon or Orange Slice

Step 1
Get an old fashioned glass

Step 2
Add Ice to the glass

Step 3
Pour in the campari and sweet vermouth over the ice.

Step 4
Add the soda

Garnish with a lemon or orange slice.
